How to Plan a Pavilion at Redwood Estates Wedding
Ultimate Wedding Guide: Pavilion at Redwood Estates
Wedding (complete with pricing info)
Surrounded by towering redwood trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Pavilion at Redwood Estates offers couples a peaceful and naturally beautiful setting just outside Los Gatos, California. The venue combines an outdoor lawn and redwood deck with a spacious indoor pavilion, giving couples several options for their ceremony, cocktail hour and wedding reception.
Located approximately 10 minutes from downtown Los Gatos, the property feels private and secluded without being too far from the conveniences of Silicon Valley. Its flexible vendor policies, straightforward rental fee and maximum capacity of 125 guests make it especially appealing to couples planning an intimate or mid-sized Northern California wedding.
Why a Pavilion at Redwood Estates Wedding?
One of the biggest reasons couples choose a Pavilion at Redwood Estates wedding is the natural setting. The spacious lawn is framed by mature redwood trees, creating a beautiful ceremony backdrop that requires very little additional decoration. After the ceremony, guests can gather on the outdoor redwood deck or lawn before moving inside for dinner and dancing.
The pavilion itself is a 3,500-square-foot cedar building featuring open-beam knotty pine ceilings, large picture windows and an approximately 1,800-square-foot maple dance floor. The warm wood interior complements the surrounding forest and creates a relaxed cabin-inspired atmosphere without sacrificing space for a traditional reception.
The rental also includes tables, indoor and outdoor chairs, a barbecue pit, an audiovisual entertainment system and professional cleaning before and after the event. A food-preparation kitchen with a refrigerator, sink and counter space is available, although couples should confirm what cooking equipment their caterer will need.
Another advantage is the venue’s flexible food and beverage policy. Couples may select their own caterers and beverage vendors or provide their own food and drinks, provided all venue rules and insurance requirements are followed. This flexibility can help couples create a celebration that suits their preferred menu, cultural traditions and overall wedding budget.

Pavilion at Redwood Estates Wedding Restrictions
Before booking, couples should review the venue’s complete rental agreement. Some of the most important restrictions include:
Event and Music Hours
The venue is available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Indoor amplified music must end by 9:00 p.m., while outdoor amplified music must end by 6:00 p.m. Violating the venue’s event or music hours may result in forfeiture of the security deposit.
Insurance and Alcohol
Renters must obtain at least $1 million in liability insurance and name the Redwood Estates Services Association as an additional insured party. Weddings serving alcohol must also include liquor liability coverage.
Alcohol may be served to guests, but it cannot be sold directly or indirectly through ticket or admission prices. The renter is responsible for checking identification when alcohol is served.
Parking
The Pavilion has parking for approximately 64 vehicles, including accessible spaces. Couples expecting more vehicles must arrange carpooling, shuttles or another transportation plan approved by the venue. Guests cannot park on neighboring residential properties or block access roads.
Decorations and Open Flames
All decorations must be flameproof or fire-retardant. Painter’s tape is the only approved method for attaching decorations to permitted surfaces. Nails, staples, screws and other materials that damage the walls are prohibited. Decorations cannot be attached to windows, lighting fixtures, sprinklers or emergency equipment. Open flames are not permitted, except for approved manufactured logs inside the fireplace with advance notice. Couples considering candles should discuss flameless alternatives with the venue.
Pets and Smoking
Dogs are not permitted inside the pavilion or on the lawn. Smoking is prohibited inside the building and is only allowed in designated parking areas.
Cleanup and Rental Collection
Couples and their vendors are responsible for removing decorations, personal items, trash and recycling within the reserved rental period. Additional rental items, including linens, tents, dinnerware, tables and chairs, must normally be collected on the evening of the wedding unless another arrangement has been approved by the venue.
The rental does not include access to the Redwood Estates swimming pool.
Best Time for a Pavilion at Redwood Estates Wedding
The best time for a Pavilion at Redwood Estates wedding is generally from late May through early October, when Lexington Hills typically experiences warmer temperatures and less rainfall. June, September, and early October are especially comfortable for outdoor ceremonies, while July and August offer the warmest weather. Because evenings can still feel cool beneath the redwoods, couples may want to provide heaters or blankets for guests.
